I can't believe its been nearly a year since the last panto blog. Where has 2008 gone?
There's lots of xmas activity back here at the theatre - staff have been busy putting up the Christmas decorations in the foyer and diners in our Circle Restaurant will have a great view of the snowflakes in the theatre's 'front window' -We've just put the finishing touches to the Christmas tree and there you go - christmas at the Hip - very festive.
Now, that indicates pantomime is on its way - oh yes it is! I'm really looking forward to it, as always, and this year's is a brand new production specially written for Birmingham.
Rehearsals in London start next week - Paul Elliott, the Director and Producer, has hinted that they will be rehearsing the intricate fight scenes on day one - no pressure then Paul.
John Barrowman - our dashing Robin Hood - will be hot footing it across London from his various TV appearances - he was on Breakfast news this morning and was brilliant on the Paul O'Grady how last night. (Check out our homepage of the website for more appearances). We can't wait to welcome him back to Brum in a few days time.
Anyway panto lovers - your panto blogger will bring you the latest news from the rehearsals next week.
